Peter Barrett is the Scottish Liberal Democrats councillor for Perth City Centre, Leader of the council group, 2021 Scottish Parliamentary candidate for Perthshire North constituency, and second on the Scottish Liberal Democrat list of candidates for Mid Scotland and Fife region. An experienced and active local champion, Peter has 17 years experience working hard for local residents. Peter is a passionate campaigner against homelessness, for more affordable housing and better social care.

Julia Brown was the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary candidate for South Perthshire and Kinross-shire. Julia is a scientist and businesswoman.  She serves on the Boards of several young businesses and charities working with refugees and young people at risk of homelessness. She has lived in the constituency for over 30 years and is a parent to three studentsJulia Brown (perthlibdems.org.uk)


Liz Barrett was elected as Scottish Liberal Democrats councillor for Perth City South in a by-election in November 2020, joining Cllr Willie Wilson in the ward. They form an energetic and effective team working for local residents, leading campaigns on local issues and getting things done. Liz has a strong professional background qualifying first as a chartered accountant and then as a solicitor. She ran her own successful project management and business transformation consultancy company in the utilities sector before working for SSE in Perth.

Lewis Simpson is the Scottish Liberal Democrats councillor for the Strathmore ward. Before retiring Lewis was the postmaster for Scone for seventeen years.  Lewis is an experienced local councillor and champion of active travel and public transport. He cycles to all council meetings.  Lewis has held numerous Senior Councillor roles covering the Environment, Education, Planning and joint Boards. He is married to Linda and has a grown-up daughter.  Lewis became the postmaster at Scone following a successful career in industrial catering management across the UK.

Willie Robertson has represented Kinross-shire for 25 years.  A local businessman, now retired, Willie ran his own agricultural supplies business in Milnathort.  Willie has held numerous Senior Councillor roles covering the Environment, Infrastructure and sport and leisure. Willie Wilson, with 40 years experience as a councillor, is the longest-serving member of Perth and Kinross Council. He was first elected in 1980.  He has worked diligently on behalf of local residents during all that time and has put out quarterly Focus newsletters without fail.  Everyone knows Willie or knows someone who has been helped by Willie. 

Willie is passionate about Perth and young people in particular.  A retired senior manager for NHS Tayside his experience as a councillor includes Depute Provost, Planning Convenor, Deputy Council Leader, Vice-Convenor of Life-Long Learning.  Willie is married to Margaret and they have two grown up sons.

Claire McLaren is our candidate for the Strathtay Ward in the forthcoming Council election.  She has recently been appointed as Agriculture spokesperson for the Scottish Liberal Democrats.  Claire is a farmer's daughter and has lived in Perthshire all of her life.  She has 3 children and ran a successful retail business in Perth. Claire has been busy talking to local residents about the issues that matter to them.  She has already taken action with the council, broadband providers and transport companies to get a better deal for Strathtay.  Claire cares about Strathtay and will be an excellent local councillor.  [email protected]
