Peter Barrett is the Scottish Liberal Democrats councillor for Perth City Centre, and Leader of the Lib Dem council group. Nationally, Peter is the Scottish Liberal Democrats' spokesperson on Local Government and Leader of the SLD group on CoSLA. Locally, Peter is the Equalities Lead for Perth and Kinross Council and Convener of the Licensing Board. Peter is an experienced and active local champion who has 19 years experience of working hard for local residents and getting things done. Peter is a passionate campaigner against homelessness and for more affordable housing .

Liz Barrett was elected as Scottish Liberal Democrats councillor for Perth City South in a by-election in November 2020. Re-elected in 2022 with the highest number of first preference votes in Perth and Kinross, she is delighted to have been appointed as Vice-Convener of the new Climate Change and Sustainability Committee and as a member of Perth and Kinross Climate Commission. Liz has a strong professional background qualifying first as a chartered accountant and then as a solicitor. She ran her own successful project management and business transformation consultancy company in the utilities sector before working for SSE in Perth. She continues to run the South Perth Community Food Share to reduce food waste and help tackle food poverty, and keeps in touch with residents through regular emails as well as her quarterly Focus newsletter.

Willie Robertson has represented Kinross-shire for 25 years.  A local businessman, now retired, Willie ran his own agricultural supplies business in Milnathort.  Willie has held numerous Senior Councillor roles covering the Environment, Infrastructure and sport and leisure. Claire McLaren is our councillor for the Strathtay Ward.  She has recently been appointed as Agriculture spokesperson for the Scottish Liberal Democrats.  Claire is a farmer's daughter and has lived in Perthshire all of her life.  She has 3 children and ran a successful retail business in Perth. Claire has been busy talking to local residents about the issues that matter to them.  She has already taken action with the council, broadband providers and transport companies to get a better deal for Strathtay.  Claire cares about Strathtay and will be an excellent local councillor.  [email protected]

 

 

 

Julia Brown was the 2021 Scottish Parliamentary candidate for South Perthshire and Kinross-shire. Julia is a scientist and businesswoman.  She serves on the Boards of several young businesses and charities working with refugees and young people at risk of homelessness.
