The Perth and Kinross Liberal Democrats have selected Claire McLaren as our candidate for the upcoming Almond and Earn by-election, due to be held on the 25th March 2021.
Claire has lived in Perthshire all her life, having grown up near Stanley then spending her adult life in Crieff where she raised and educated her three children. Claire is looking to bring her passion for community wellbeing and local business to the residents of Almond & Earn.
Having had her own small business, The Fussy Cow, Claire understands how impactful local issues are to any business’ success. Whether this be poor broadband speeds or insufficient transport links she is ready to tackle these head on to ensure businesses can thrive. With over twenty five years experience in the housing sector Claire brings a depth of understanding of issues faced by both tenants and landlords alike. Claire is looking to bring this knowledge and experience to her position and assist the residents of Almond & Earn wherever possible.
With a strong agricultural background Claire brings understanding to rural communities and businesses, their can face different challenges in different ways. Countryside access is a topic that we all enjoy but can create issues for those living within the countryside. She believes that our countryside deserves respect.
Bringing many years of experience from various committees and volunteer groups, combined with her time as a local businesswoman, Claire is the candidate to support your local area and your interests.
